The challenge this week over at Polka Doodles was to do anything you wanted as long as you followed the sketch. Here's the sketch... ...and here is my card.
It all started with the background paper which is/was an 8 1/2 x 11 piece from LaRayne Miller and Keeping Memories Alive (circa 2000). My BFF's sister brought 2 storage boxes full last year and told us to help ourselves. I probably took 60-70 sheets and have used a few here and there. This butterfly piece was one-of-a-kind and boy I wish there had been more. Anyway...it inspired me to go with a simple color scheme - purple and copper. I used my Cricut and cut the tags from MF, the letters and dainty swirls from CC, the branch and flowers from HA, and the butterfly from HD. I used Nesties (regular and large scallop ovals) for the mats for the butterfly, one of which is a piece of handmade (not by me!) paper. I inked some and then added three little self-adhesive rhinestones along the top copper strip.
