The Play Date Cafe

I had some time to play along at The Play Date Cafe again this week. As you can see by the first picture, the colors this week are "fire" red, white, and black. I'm using any excuse to make Christmas cards these days, so here's another. I stamped the santa and reindeer image (Stampin' Up) and then ran it through my CB using the Sizzix snowflake folder. I punched the tree border on a second piece of white cardstock and then embossed it (up to the "tree line") with my Swiss Dots folder. I cut Santa using my Cricut and the Christmas Solutions cart on plain white cardstock and colored him with Prismas and OMS. I cut "BELIEVE" with the DJ cart. I added another little StudioG stamp and a corner (EK Success punch). I think that's about it.

Penny Black-Song Title/Lyrics

Well I had so much fun at the Penny Black Saturday Challenge last week I decided to do it again plus it's a good way to get another Christmas card done. The theme this week is to make a card based on a sing title or lyrics. Well, this one is kind of a cross between "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas" and "The Twelve Days of Christmas". The stamp is from the PB "...in a pear tree" transparency set colored with Prismas and OMS. I used paper from MMBI, some punches (MS Lace Doily border and EK Success corner), regular and scalloped circle Nesties, a $ stamp for the sentiment and some dotted-swiss ribbon from my stash. Thanks for taking a peek.

Liam's Turning 5!

WOW, I can't believe our little man is going to be 5 next week! This is the card I've made him for his party tomorrow. Since he's so into the whole Star-Wars thing (and we're giving him Star-Wars Legos) I thought the alien theme would work well. I found this cool background paper at M's and then cut the flying saucer/space ship and aliens using my Cricut and EDPD. I doodled each little alien in a different way and added some wiggle eyes. I found a techno-looking font at dafont.com and computer-generated the sentiment. Thanks for dropping by...I always appreciate your comments.

Polkadoodle Challenge

Well this week over at the Polkadoodle Palace (as Nikky likes to call it!) we were to make a holiday decoration. I can make ornaments (kind of-LOL!) but a decoration?!?! So, I decided on this little door hanger for my niece who is turning 13 next week. All of the paper/images are from the Jingle Jangle CD. There is a "Polly" already colored to print but I used the "stampie" and colored her myself with Prismas and OMS. I just love the ransom-look alphabets that are included - you can do so much with them. I added a red bow to match the ribbon I used for the hanger and a bit of doodling. Thanks for dropping by. Work has been a real bear lately but I promise I'll catch up on my blog-hopping this weekend...looks like you've all been busy.

Penny Black-White on White

I don't think I've ever done a "white on white" card. Since I was over at my BFF's playing all day yesterday, I decided to have a go at the Penny Black Saturday Challenge this week. I chose a simple hedgehog image (Christmas Dreams) and one of my favorite sentiments. I colored the image with Prismas and OMS and used only white glitter paper and heavy white cardstock. The snow flakes are a combination of MS punches and a CB die. I also used the MS Stars border punch and bit of $ bin fiber "borrowed" from my friend Deb. I like the way it turned out and it was fun to do something different.

Polkadoodle Challenge-Week 24

This week is all about using the new 2-CD Set "Not for Girls". These CD's are loaded with great images for all those guys we can never make the perfect card for. This one comes from the Cars folder. We were also to doodle (skinny lines on the right, little bits on the letter tiles) and use 3 brads (bottom right). Of course we were suppose to use a stamp too and I just forgot. The background paper and the Celebrate circle are from the CD's also. Check out the other DT examples over at Polkadoodles .

BOO

Here's the last of my Halloween cards. I found some cute "punny" tombstones at the party store and decided to computer-generate the names and use my CB tombstone to cut and emboss them. I cut the argyle icon from WC and "like magic" the skulls on the background paper fit perfectly into the openings. I added some grass from EDPD, spiders, bats and BOO from WC, a bit of doodling and some inking and there you have it. Happy Halloween to everyone.
