Polkadoodles Challenge Week 18

Well things are very busy in my craft room right now. I have several milestone birthdays coming up in a couple of weeks and you know how we crafters are - special cards for special people, and even "specialer" cards for special occasions. The challenge at Polkadoodles this week is to include do-it-yourself flowers. I saw these roses done over on the Cricut MB and had to give them a try (and I would give credit but I hate that I never wrote their name down) for my Grandmother's 100th birthday card. I think the effect is quite striking. Each rose is 3 6-petal flowers (any kind of paper flower) that are basically cut, glued, and rolled. I cut a frame using my Cricut (AE) and really popped it up so that I had additional support for the roses that are nestled in a bed of dimensional adhesive bits. The flowers are made from papers printed from the Jingle Jangle CD (Festive Swirls/Red Winter) and make the flowers look so realistic - no need for shading or inking. I also used trees from the Candy Doodles CD for the leaves and a little birdy from the Sugar Doodles CD. I added a couple of Cricut cuts for the sentiments. My Grandmother loves roses and bluebirds. I hope she'll like this card. The best part is that I will be delivering it in person!
