Happiness Jar

YEA! it's Friday and another week closer (2 to go) to vacation.  My husband shakes his head when I get excited about this since I've been retired for almost two years.  I am very blessed to have been able to leave the work force early and now divide my days between spending time with my [widowed] father and playing at card-making.

I've been stuck in Halloween mode for about a month now and decided to challenge myself to make a decent one-layer card.  I have a looooong way to go to achieve "decent", let alone something I would consider good.  I'm putting this up anyway as a reminder to myself to keep on trying.

I used my September KOTM.  I love the little jar and all of the sentiment possibilities.  I also used the Chicken Wire background stamp by Joslyn Nielson.  I stamped the jar on the card and on scrap paper, added a bit of watercolor, and used the scrap image to cut a mask.  I put the mask over the jar and then stamped the chicken wire background and then the sentiment.  I also flicked some watercolor onto the card.  I think some of the words of the sentiment get a bit lost but over all it's so-so.  I'm going work on this technique some more today.  Hopefully I'll get better.  Enjoy!
