Amazing

YAY!, it's Friday and time for everyone to share their Unity creations over on the Unity blog.  I'm certainly linking up to Friends with Flair today and so should you.

I've always loved watercolors and the look is certainly on-trend right now.  I have seen so many examples of various techniques that mimic the use of actual watercolors on blogs and in magazines and I'm really loving how I can use my Tim Holtz Distress Markers to replicate the look.

For this card I went back to some KOTM's from 2012 and 2013.  I cut a piece of watercolor paper (tip - I use only 90 lb if I'm layering a panel onto a card) and sprayed it with water.  I then scribbled on the panel with some distress markers, spritzed it again, and let it dry.  Once dry; I stamped the image (oh, guess what? - this image is now also now available as part of a separate kit), added some more color with the same markers, and distressed the edges.  The sentiment is stamped on a die-cut label (also watercolor paper).  As it seems with every card I've made lately (ha, ha!) - I added some black sequins and there is the tiniest bit of glitter at the top of the bodice (hard to see in the photo).

I also think I'll enter into Unity's monthly challenge - this for the {be inspired} card sketch.  I think it fits.

Here's the sketch...

...and here's my card.

I hope everyone has an awesome weekend.
