Little Things
A belated Happy Independence Day to everyone. Hubby is busy with yard projects so I have most of the weekend to play. I'll start off by playing along with Unity Friends with Flair. It's so addictive and it "forces" me to try to look at my large collection of Unity stamps for things I might have missed.
I've been playing with watercolors a bit for some simple yet elegant cards. This one uses an image and sentiment from the June KOTM and all of the stamps in this kit lend themselves to this type of coloring.
I created a card base from watercolor paper then stamped the bird image with Memento Tuxedo Black ink. It only takes a few minutes to dry completely. I then washed 3 colors of watercolor over the image in a random fashion and then added some more color to parts of the bird. I stamped the sentiment and trimmed it closely, painted the edge, and adhered it with foam tape. After that I flicked color directly from the watercolor pencils onto the card. I hope you enjoy.
