Unity October Color Challenge

Unity posts a new challenge each month.  You can choose to follow either a card layout, a scrapbook layout, or a color challenge (where anything goes as long you follow the color scheme).  When I saw the colors for this month my mind kind of kicked into high gear.  Here are the October choices.

Here is my take on this beautiful color combo.

I stamped the image (from the October KOTM), masked it, and used pigment ink (applied with a makeup sponge) to give it the minty green shadow.  I removed the mask and colored the bird with a red Prismacolor pencil,  I highlighted the snowflakes with a white gel pen and there is the tiniest bit of white Liquid Applique on the branch.  I die-cut the image into an oval and matted it with a hand-cut oval mat (edges distressed).  The papers are from my scrap bin as is the ribbon covering the seam.  I stamped the senitment (just beautiful from the October Layers of Life kit), matted it, and adhered it with foam tape.  I added some tiny little die-cut stars to finish it off.  Hope you enjoy!

  1. The card is wonderful. Chickadees are such a happy bird and the card feels wonderful.
